World Cups and Stuff

The image of this naked Don Juan was all over Berlin. I am pretty sure it is for the opera. But how cool is it that commuters are seemingly unphased by imagery like this.

It is likely universal that provocative subway ads invite, how you say, “rider enhancements.” Thus, we see Don’s brassiere, or more exactly Don’s World Cups. I cannot lie, this pic was a real find!

We are in Dresden now. We took an elevator ride and a challenging walk up steep stairs to get to the top of the Frauenkirche (the Church of our Lady). What a story: destroyed by British and American firebombs at the end of the war. Rebuilt after reunification – from a mosaic of old, flame-scorched and new sandstone bricks.

And, what a view!
